GLSEN offers many ways you can engage your school community, either during national events like GLSEN’s Day of Silence.

Based on almost 30 years of experience working to make schools safer, healthier and more respectful for LGBTQ youth, GLSEN has developed effective training tools that empower K-12 educators to ensure that all youth have access to meaningful educational experiences.

The GLSEN SHINE Team is a group of student leaders working to create safer schools and communities throughout Washington. 

IN*clued is an LGBTQ+ centered, comprehensive sexual health curriculum designed by Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest and Hawaiian Islands.

The Rainbow Library Project is an initiative that sends free LGBTQ+ affirming K-12 text sets to schools and libraries across Washington State!

We all want to help schools become safe, respectful communities, but how do we know where to start? What are the challenges that students and educators face? What works best to address those challenges?

GLSEN Chapter volunteers and national Office staff work in coalition with state-based organizations to advance affirming policies and defeat harmful proposals in state legislatures and state education agencies.
